Flayed Light is a series of three ceramic and mixed-media lanterns that take inspiration from the process of hide tanning. The pieces are built from two different terra cotta bodies, paired with leather cord and fur to echo the look of processed hides. When the lanterns are lit, the cut out ribs in the clay cast shifting shadows, making it feel like the work is alive and breathing.
