In the Holler is a part of a set that reflects on the way we display and distort the natural world. A two-headed ceramic pike is mounted on a tufted plaque, echoing traditional taxidermy but softening its edges. The bright orange glaze and doubled form feel unnatural - an image of something altered, or changed by its environment. Placed in a setting meant to evoke the stillness and isolation of the holler, the piece sits between reverence and discomfort. It asks what we choose to preserve, and what those choices reveal about us.
